Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Repair Services

Repairing a hybrid or electric vehicle is different from repairing conventional cars. Finding veterans at hybrid vehicle repairs out of many auto repair shops might appear challenging. What if we tell you you can now vibe with your EVs while staying stress-free and having us by your sides?

Difference Between Electric & Hybrid vehicle

Electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles represent two distinct approaches to sustainable transportation. While both utilize electric power for propulsion, they differ significantly in their design and operation.

EVs operate entirely on electric power, relying solely on a high-voltage battery pack for power. This design results in zero tailpipe emissions, making EVs a highly environmentally friendly choice. They can be conveniently charged at home or at various public charging stations. However, it’s important to note that EVs generally have a shorter driving range compared to hybrids, due to their reliance on battery power alone.

In contrast, hybrid vehicles combine an electric motor with a traditional internal combustion engine. This combination allows hybrids to utilize either or both power sources depending on driving conditions. While hybrids produce fewer emissions than conventional gasoline vehicles, they do still generate some tailpipe emissions. A key benefit of hybrids is their extended driving range, as they can switch to gasoline power when the battery is consumed.

When To Service Your Hybrids & EVs?

You must do routine maintenance if you want your vehicles to last a long time or maybe a lifetime. Unlike gasoline vehicles, you don’t need to pay attention to spark plugs, timing belts, oxygen sensors, fuel filters, oil change intervals, transmission flushes, and more. You need to focus on crucial servicing, which is:

Tyre Servicing

The car parts that touch the ground are your 04 tires, similar to your piston cars. You must get them services for cracks, uneven wear, and appropriate tread levels. Trust our technicians for your tire servicing needs.

Brakes Servicing

Thanks to the advent of regenerative brakes that save you from paying attention to brake pads, brake discs, and rotors. The heat generated through friction is the drive to recharge the battery, and you may go for years without changing the brakes. Keep your brakes healthy and functional with us.

Battery Servicing

You know the battery degrades over time but does not need to be serviced as we are accustomed to catalytic converters and oil changes in conventional vehicles. Most batteries last a decade, but it depends on your use. Get it checked with us to know about your battery health.

Motor Servicing

No maintenance is usually required for motors, but if you needed it, you would have to replace the motor unit itself, and there’s usually no repair option as it’s a 12-part sealed unit. If your car is not equipped for your needs, check it with us.

Miscellaneous Servicing

From changing air filters to getting your suspension checked to check wheel alignments, there comes a lot of miscellaneous work that you may get consultation for.

How Often Should You Get Your Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Repair Serviced?

Unlike conventional cars, electric vehicles don’t require routine oil changes, spark plug replacements, or oil filter changes; they must still be maintained. Every 30 days, you must check your tire pressure and see if the washer fluid is low. Every 7500 miles, you have to rotate your tires, inspect car brakes, and check the coolant levels for battery, suspension, chase components, and charger modules. Every 15000 miles, you can change the wiper blades. Also, every 36000 miles, you have to replace the cabin air filter, and when you finally reach 75,000 miles, you should replace your suspension gas struts. The battery generally has a warranty for eight years or after 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Get your cars checked at Integrity 1st.

The Cost Of Electric & Hybrid Car Maintenance

The average annual maintenance cost for a hybrid vehicle can range from $300 to $600. Electric vehicles, on the other hand, typically have lower maintenance costs between $200 and $500 per year. Several factors can influence maintenance costs for both hybrid and electric vehicles, including the vehicle make and model, the driving habits, and regional factors such as road conditions and climate. However, following a manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule can help prevent costly repairs.

According to the US Department of Energy, scheduled maintenance of EVs and hybrids can cost 40% less than fossil-powered vehicles. An estimated saving of 6.1 cents per mile is observed with electric cars, while it costs 1.1 cents per mile with conventional ones.

It lasts a decade or two; however, it depends on how the vehicle is used and the mileage covered. Environmental conditions and driving habits also influence how long your EV battery lasts.

As per Toyata’s CEO, water engines are going to flip the market entirely as they promise to be more eco-friendly than EVs and hybrids. It’s more like a small HHO generator and works on the principle of electrolysis to generate power. Soon, these will replace this million-dollar industry as the work on water-powered vehicles is ongoing.
